A WORD FROM THE AMBASSADOR

On November 17, 2017, I arrived in the United Kingdom and on February 09, 2018, I handed over my credentials to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II making me the third Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with residence in London.

By taking over the leadership of this diplomatic representation with the mandate of Professor Alpha Conde, President of the Republic of Guinea, my mission, like that my predecessors, is to pursue, improve and diversify the relations of all orders between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Guinea.

Our country will have on 02 October 2018, 60 years of independence with a rich political history. One of the important milestones of its long political march, is the genuine democratic opening in 2010 with a presidential election consisting of several candidates under the observation of the international community.

Since then, a new way of administering the country has been put in place, in other words, a new political, economic, financial and social governance has emerged with important challenges to face.

In this dynamic, our diplomacy plays its part by judiciously combining political and economic interests with the country’s development goals in a public-private partnership framework.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain remains a serious development partner in this regard.

Many are joint development initiatives and actions taken and which are being implemented with this partner.

British companies are evolving in Guinea in the mining sector and the British financial community are interested in financing some of our priority areas of development.

High-level visits between the two countries are recorded, making people to people contact a facilitator of the management of bilateral relations.

Another interest but not least, of our diplomatic mission is to involve our important Guinean diaspora in the country’s development efforts in a unity of action.

Welcome to the visitors on this website that provides you with informations about our country and the activities of the Embassy.
